International Call
Re: International Call
Cheers guys, I'll get a metfone sim and try with the 168 code. I've no idea why I was getting shafted so hard by smart, I mean on their site they say you can call UK for 7 cent per minute. But also they seem to have different prices for different 'zones' and some UK codes are listed under $1 a minute so the number I was trying to call must be one of them.
Re: International Call
no prefix call to Uk cost me $1.50 for about 40 minutes. Really pissed me off because i had topped up phone $10 expecting it to be more TBF I cannot make sesne of it recently. 3 long calls this summer each cost different amountcautious colin wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 9:45 amReally? That's good, wished they'd update there website thenpczz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 3:44 amNo it is not. that is out of date byb at least 12 months. Go to metfone office and ask. no prefix is needed anymorecautious colin wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 8:44 amMetfone is 15c per min unless prefixed with 168, then is either 3c per min or 4c per min depending if you pay the monthly 10c feepczz wrote: ↑Fri Feb 28, 2020 4:00 amI am lost here. Smart do not charge $1 a minute. I use Metfone. You do not need a prefix. Just buy a sim card at metfone for $1, top it up. It is supposed tobe $0.07c per minute to uk. In reality, and i cannot tell you why, it costs less than that. 30 minutes to my uk bank only took $1.50 from my balanceLIVIDZX wrote: ↑Thu Feb 27, 2020 10:03 pm
Thanks Mish - I don't have a smart phone right now to try those latter options however, but you're not sure on a place I could use a landline for a lot less per minute than the obscene >$1 per min via smart I'm getting charged right now? I've spent around $25 in phone credit and it's eaten up so quickly that I've barely been put through to speak to a rep after inputting my details... it's driving me mad.
Re: International Call
Well I tried getting a metfone sim, activated 168 promo. Put in $2 credit, it ran out and I got cut off in around 45 seconds before I could get past automated responses to speak to someone, tried a different number for same bank - exact same problem. WTF is going on?
These are the two numbers I called - both are for HSBC bank in UK.
