I wouldn't know as the sparse finances given in their "annual report" do not tell us this.fazur wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2020 12:20 pmwhat does a mountie earn?angkorjohn2 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 25, 2020 3:59 am3. This Ratanak has an annual report - https://www.ratanak.org/news/january-2020/ showing over $2 million spent, for a local NGO (i.e. not a Save the Children, Care international etc.) this is a phenomenal amount of money compared to others and with fairly low outcomes in terms of number of outcomes/beneficiaries.
i'm guessing less than his share of that $2 million.
They somehow waste $315,361 trying to raise more funds which is an incredible amount for an organization this size. Maybe this is where he takes his salary from, to be the mouthpiece of the organization peddling a version of Cambodia that hasn't existed for about 15+ years to gullible donors. As SAA says, this detracts from the many organziations who are doing good work in this field who don't see the need to peddle embellished fact and stories.
I'd advise any donors just to stick to the prayer option given as a way to help and send money to another organization https://www.ratanak.org/get-involved/pray/

It is all the above and more. These days we have 24 hour access to the "news" be it "factual" or "opinion" or just fake news.
WE the readers of this "news" create a platform for "writers" to spew their thoughts, facts, dreams or just bullshit and as you all know some people cannot differentiate between fact and fiction.
Yes I comment on some things here but I don't respond to a lot. I read news stories and cringe at the descriptions and biased statements provided. Opinion pieces are just one persons thoughts on a subject but many take the info spewed out as facts.
The old Nigerian scam has progressed with digital access and is alive and well.
I am older and generally trust at face value. I trust my judgement on people I meet and what I see. I don't trust most of what I read or hear reported so if I really want to find out about the specific event I check various sources . This by no means gives us the truth but can provide enough info to discount claims therefore stop wasting time on the subject.
I have seen some great NGO activities and some not so good. I applaud those that are providing real assistance and deplore those that fail to pass on donations and spend on accommodation, transport , "wages" associated costs (fund raising)
Note in the figures provided the cost spent on fundraising of over $300000 only gained a few thousand more in donations. What were these costs? World travel, 5 star accommodation, expenses. Bullshit........

A quote from his Organisation ........
" We have found that God does not turn down the offer of open hearts and hands". O and money...Especially Money.......
On every page there is a " Donate" option....

I read it as 300k spent to bring in 1.8M - which isn't as bad....But It reinforces the issues the small local NGO faces when they compete with the likes of these guys who are spending a fortune on fundraising.
I read somewhere last year that the biggest 5% of NGOs hoover up around 85% of available funding. (I don't have a source and I'm going from memory). The little guys - some of them doing great work (and in some cases better work than the big boys) just cannot compete.

I have always been amazed that people would believe that the Creator of this Universe would have a need for cash.
As for this 'supposed' God, after seeing the untold misery he has heaped on our human race, I for one would smash his face in - like Prometheus!

@God have you sent this virus to punish humanity for its decadence and sins?

I'll follow Sun Tzu - make yr enemy believe you are far when you are near, and make him think you are near when you are far.God wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 2:26 pmMishmash wrote: ↑Sat Feb 29, 2020 12:21 pm I have always been amazed that people would believe that the Creator of this Universe would have a need for cash.
