I don't know what CDC is but someone should penalize him . Imagine if you found out you were on the same plane as him .

HE has played a high-stakes game by downplaying fear of the coronavirus to make the case to Cambodians that there is in an experienced sheriff in town and they have nothing to worry about with him at the helm. Quote from CEOCambodiaNews
The Prime Minister maybe right in his judgment of the situation on the wellbeing of his countries people, and also the welcomed guests to the country, not being that of a so called scare monger and proving that the country is safe, with only one accounted positive person resulting to testing. Outsiders only saying he is downplaying the facts. Only now it is said, such as Thailand not allowing its own people to return home from the cruise ship until a quarantine period is served. What has been mentioned by another member could come into play! Center for Disease Control. Could work in two ways, if permitted they could help with testing, or not allow or play a large part in countries not allowing visitors and travellers from the Kingdom. What would effectively mean, if the authority is wrong here expats may and could find themselves in a tricky situation.
Something to think about.
Always "hope" but never "expect".

MS Westerdam passengers test negative for coronavirus; hundreds allowed to depart Cambodia
Morgan Hines08:09, Feb 21 2020

Passengers from the Holland America's MS Westerdam -- the ship that finally docked in Cambodia last week after being turned away from multiple ports and later had one passenger diagnosed with coronavirus, prompting a new round of testing -- can officially get on with their lives.

On Wednesday, the cruise line reported that the 781 passengers still in Cambodia tested negative for the virus.

"The Cambodian Ministry of Health has issued a press release confirming that 781 Westerdam guests have tested negative for COVID-19. This completes the guests' testing," Holland America said in a release on Wednesday.

"Given the announcement just this morning of all the negative test results which cleared people for travel, we are rapidly working on air arrangements and their details will be communicated to them once finalised," Elvejord said in an email. "Airports will vary and any restrictions taken into consideration when making those arrangements.

Elvejord didn't have exact numbers but said several hundred had already begun the journey home. "They have been cleared to travel by Cambodian Health Ministry to travel," he said. "A letter will be given to each guest from them as to this test result."

An additional 747 crew members will remain on board the ship while their testing is completed, meaning MS Westerdam will stay docked at the port in Sihanoukville for at least a few more days.

According to a letter to American passengers from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, all Americans must remain symptom-free and not have any positive tests for an additional 14 days before they can re-enter the US.

"Under this restriction, you will not be issued a boarding pass at the airport, nor will you be allowed to board a flight inbound to, outbound from, or within the United States until you are no longer at risk of spreading infection during travel," the letter said.

There was no coronavirus on board the Westerdam; the woman at the origin of the scare has tested negative, says US Government organization CDC( Centers for Disease Control and Prevention).

CDC: Westerdam passenger ‘never had coronavirus to our knowledge’ after cruise ship chaos
By USA Today - February 23, 2020

After chaos for a cruise ship of passengers and crew, an 83-year-old American woman who was said to have tested positive for coronavirus in Malaysia “never had coronavirus to our knowledge,” the CDC told USA TODAY late Friday.

“I have confirmed that all the passengers were tested, and they have come back negative for coronavirus, including the person who initially tested positive,” said CDC spokesperson Richard Quartarone. He added that the hospitalized woman “may have had a respiratory illness, but if she did, it was not COVID-19.”

The CDC received those results Thursday, Quartarone said adding that the CDC sent revised guidance to state and local health officials late Thursday based on those results.

Meanwhile, Malaysia has said that the suspected virus victim is recovering.

Health Ministry explains American Covid-19 patient recovering after treatment, after US, Cambodia insist she wasn’t infected at all
Saturday, 22 Feb 2020 03:36 PM MYT
BY ZURAIRI AR
KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 22 ― The Ministry of Health (MOH) has announced today that the 22nd Covid-19 patient in Malaysia, an American lady from the Westerdam cruise ship, is recovering after 72 hours of treatment.

In a statement, Health Director-General Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah said the 83-year-old woman has shown positive development, but is still under monitoring in Sungai Buloh Hospital as she is still exhibiting minor cough.

“She had shown improvements after 72 hours of treatment initiation. Therefore, the repeated Covid-19 tests were done, two tests, 24 hours apart.

“Both the repeated tests were found to be negative for Covid-19,” he said.

This explanation came after the United States Centre for Disease Control (CDC) was quoted telling USA Today yesterday that it decided that all passengers aboard the cruise ship tested negative, including the 83-year-old woman currently quarantined in Malaysia.

“I have confirmed that all the passengers were tested, and they have come back negative for coronavirus, including the person who initially tested positive,” CDC spokesman Richard Quartarone was quoted saying.

Quartarone also insisted that the woman “may have had a respiratory illness, but if she did, it was not Covid-19”.

The CDC’s claim came despite the woman previously testing positive for Covid-19, twice.

The American woman was detected by a thermal scanner in the Kuala Lumpur International Airport on February 15, before an X-ray test showing her suffering from pneumonia.

She was warded in an isolation ward in the Sungai Buloh Hospital, and her oropharyngeal and nasopharyngeal clinical samples were tested by the Institute of Medical Research. Both samples had tested positive twice.

Following which, she was given anti-viral treatment of lopinavir/ritonavir, together with oxygen aid for her symptoms.

Lopinavir/Ritonavir (LPV/r), sold under the brand name Kaletra among others, is a fixed dose combination medication for the treatment and prevention of HIV/AIDS. It combines lopinavir with a low dose of ritonavir.

The Cambodian Health Ministry has also reportedly raised “doubt over the accuracy” of Malaysia’s diagnosis, as it backed the decision of its government to let the Westerdam dock in the country.

Westerdam Passengers at Low Risk of Coronavirus Infection, C.D.C. Says
The agency does not know why one passenger’s test results were positive, but said there is no risk to fellow travelers.
By New York Times - February 25, 2020

Passengers aboard the cruise ship Westerdam who have returned to the United States no longer need to isolate themselves and can resume normal activities, despite the fact that one passenger tested positive for the new coronavirus in Malaysia, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has advised.

A spokesman for the agency said on Saturday that the passenger’s diagnosis, confirmed twice by health officials in Malaysia, was a false-positive and noted that no other infections among passengers aboard the ship had been reported.

But on Sunday, the agency said that it had no direct evidence that the test result was a false-positive. Malaysian health officials announced that the passenger, an 83-year-old American woman, now tests negative for the infection, but experts say that is to be expected in a patient recovering from the illness.
