Three Chinese Arrested After Beating Up Taiwanese Pilot

Cambodia News, Siem Reap: Officers from the Bureau of Investigation and Procedure, from the Siem Reap Department of Immigration, detained 3 foreigners (including one female), at 8:10 am, February 21, 2020.

The three suspects are all Chinese nationals residing in Siem Reap:
1-CHEN XIANGKE Male, 26, Chinese, Performing Arts
2-TANG HUAQI Male, 25, Chinese, performer, martial arts
3-GUO JING Female, 23, Chinese, Occupation, a LANMEI Employee

The victim, a 30-year-old Chinese Taiwanese pilot was attacked at approximately 3:10 am in the morning of February 21, 2020, by the three suspects. He suffered multiple bruising and was kicked in the face, injuring his jaw and breaking two teeth.
After receiving a complaint from the victim, authorities investigated and brought the three suspects to the office for questioning.

Those Chinese are just bloody lucky the Taiwanese pilot was not at 32,000 ft when this happened.

Given the tensions surrounding China and Taiwan before the latest virus epidemic it could be either one or the other ... or both.
Also, on January 11, Tsai Ing-wen and the pro-independence Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) won an enormous victory which has added to the tensions.

Didn't the Chinese beat up some westerner a while back for having a Taiwan tattoo in SHV. They certainly didn't want anyone else in their commandeered hotels and guest houses, which points at them as racists.

Pure speculation, but since the victim is a pilot, and the woman involved reportedly works for Lanmei Airlines, maybe the two of them work together and the attack was about something more personal like a lovers quarrel, or he hit on her and she was spoken for, or whatever. It may be nothing to do with geopolitics, but more to do with "cherchez la femme"

Hm. i dont stay in hotle sused by chinese if i can avoid it. 4 in a room, argiuing over sexworkesrs of indeterminates sex, hanging around in the minimart while their friedn takes his turn. I have no problem with chinese 90% of the time but the ones that we have in cambodia are pretty much the lowest of the loow. the well educated and welll behaved onse seem to be able to afford to go to more upmarket places these days. the ones here are like a bunch of drunk builders on payday
