Has the Corona (COVID-19) changed your life so far?
Has the Corona (COVID-19) changed your life so far?
I have been wondering over the last few days what I should do. I have a family with an 8 year old, so I feel some responsibility. So far I've following the news, but to be honest, I don't know what to believe anymore. So I am guided by my own bullshit meter / common sense, which might of course be way off.
But, so far I have taken a few measures, which have changed daily life a little bit.
- compulsory hand washing every time you enter the house
- no more visits to weddings
- visits to local market once every 4 days (before: every 2 days)
- no more traveling in public transport (exception: kid's bus to school)
- no flights
and in general: more sanitation in and outside the house.
Just wondering.... Has it changed your daily life in Cambodia so far?

Not really. I keep my house fairly clean and wash my hands every time I come home.
I have stopped going out a bit and only go to markets once or twice , not every day.

Last week I flew to Malaysia, then train, bus, bus, taxi , private car, train. Then Thailand ,, Moto, train , taxi, bus, moto . ,,, moto, bus, minibus. Cambodia , moto , bus, tuk-tuk .
I didn't see anyone changing their lifestyle because of some virus they cannot see, feel, taste or smell. Life carries on as normal.

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Unless someone is actually in China, I'm not sure why they would modify their lifestyle. AFAIK, the only cases in Cambodia are on the cruise ship.
Vietnam hasn't reported any new cases since Thursday. There have been 16 cases, seven have been discharged from hospitals while the rest are all in stable condition. Of the 16 infections, 11 have been detected in northern Vinh Phuc Province near China.
I already wash my hands an average of 23 times per day. I certainly don't wear a mask or avoid public places or events.
It will be great when it fizzles out enough that crybabies can finally stop whining about it.

Wash my hands always when getting home. Apart from that, no change to lifestyle yet. No dependents to worry about.
I can say that having lived here in 2003 during SAR's, its a big difference in 2020 with smartphones, widespread connectivity, social media etc constantly reminding and misinforming us.

I think I'd be most concerned about flights (or buses/trains) right now. A friend flew to Australia via Singapore the other day and I told her to use hand sanitiser on the seatbelt buckle and tray table knob the moment she sat in her seat. And if you're wearing a mask you're just less likely to touch your face anyway.
I'm wondering how so many people on that cruise ship are still getting sick despite being confined to their quarters.

It's changed my life by making me realize how many people are actually worried Wandas.
EDIT: I get it if you have a kid though.
