A daily pint of beer or glass of wine can ward off dementia, according to a new study.

Researchers found pensioners who enjoy a daily drop of their favourite alcoholic beverage have better memories than teetotallers.

The study showed those over 60 who drank sensibly were better at recalling events, and had more grey matter in the hippocampus, the area of the brain which controls memory.

Chocolate could help stave off dementia by increasing blood flow to a part of the brain that helps with memory, suggests new research.

The research showed antioxidants in cocoa - called dietary cocoa flavanols - helped improve the memory of pensioners.

Any chance that it could precede biblical? The biblicists probably picked up on it later and threw it in as good old fashioned common sense, as much of the bible is.

I'll drink to that. :beer3:

(Shame I'll have forgotten about it in the morning though)

Are you referring to the writers of the original documents, or the interpretors? Either way, interesting point. Personally, I always enjoy watching a religious teetotaler trying to justify a zero-tolerance policy.
