Holland America Cruise Ship to Dock at Sihanoukville

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

What I worry is that some people might just have lied on the symptoms just not the get hospitalized here and due to general peer pressure as they didn't want to be the person that caused everyone to get locked into the ship.

Where are the rest of the passengers currently???

I'm following a lady on Twitter who was a passenger. She is in a hotel in PP along with a few hundred more and sight seeing around the area. A couple hundred have already flown out of the country. And about 400 are still on the ship and have been blocked from disembarking since the positive result in Malaysia.

The ship was believed to be free of the virus but an 83-year-old American woman from it tested positive upon arriving in Malaysia, authorities there said, adding that a second test, at the request of the cruise operator, confirmed the finding.

for those that still think the cambodian goverment is tellng the truth to ya...
welllll.
While we witnessed the usual denial in Cambodia:
"Health Ministry asks Malaysia to re-test specimens of US woman from MS Westerdam confirmed positive for coronavirus",

Malaysia has apparently not only confirmed in a second test the result, but also closed it's borders for the remaining Westerdam passengers in an understandable reaction to this embarrassing incompetency.
"Malaysia said it won’t allow any more passengers from the Westerdam cruise ship to enter the country from Cambodia, after an American woman who flew into Kuala Lumpur was diagnosed."
