US customs seizes dead birds in passenger baggage from China labeled as 'cat food'

If you have something so weird, strange or off-topic to post and think it doesn't belong in any other forum; you're probably right. Please put all your gormless, half-baked, inane, glaikit ideas in here. This might also be a place where we throw threads that appear elsewhere that don't belong ANYWHERE end up, instead of having to flush them. FORUM RULES STILL APPLY.

US customs seizes dead birds in passenger baggage from China labeled as 'cat food'

Post by Clutch Cargo »

During a baggage examination, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) specialists discovered a package with pictures of a cat and dog that the passenger said was 'cat food.' The package, according to officials, contained a bunch of unknown small birds, about 2.5 to 3.5 inches in length.

The birds from China, according to CBP officials, are prohibited for import due to the potential threat of highly pathogenic avian influenza. The avian products were seized on behalf of the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) and destroyed by incineration, with USDA approval.

chickens
these ones came out of a shiny bright plastic packet labelled cat food in Japanese
imported from china, declared by passenger, so no charges laid

just a byproduct of last night's coq au vin
gassed probably, or maybe just the sick and broken early casualties of the industry tossed from the conveyer belt straight into the freeze dryer

(i'm trying to talk myself into cashewnutarianism  )

I got seven cats, Fishing cat, Jungle cat, Golden cat, Marbled cat, Leopard cat, Clouded Leopard, Leopard.
And yeah i've trained them just right - that's why they put those big fences around all the cashew nut orchards these days.

Seriously tho, I reckon those chickens are probably freeze dried for two purposes.
Japanese cat food and chinese chicken soup stock.
Just a wild guess.
