After Two Months in Cambodia, British Tourist Asks to be Sent Home
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On February 10, 2020, at 11:30 am, a 45-year-old British man identified as JAMES BUNTING went to the Investigation and Procedure Office at the Immigration Department in Phnom Penh, asking for their help to send him back to the UK.
After questioning the police found that the British man arrived in Cambodia as a tourist on December 4, 2019, through Phnom Penh International Airport. Now, two months later, he has no passport, his visa has expired by over one month, and he has no money to pay.
In the end, the man decided to go to the local Cambodian immigration authorities to ask them to send him home.

Do the Khmers really pay to ship folks out of here? In Thailand, you wait in the cage until someone gets you a ticket.

Still young, not in a hurry....
A cheap second-hand bicycle and a push in the back, he would get home fitter than now.
Win-win.

Yeah. Lost passport. Some enterprising person could keep busy and maybe make money with a lost and found for passports. Lots of them, it seems.

and quaff G.& T's.
Quite right though. Why should they help an idiot who cannot keep his shit together for 2 months. Very poor show...

Yeah, where do they go?
If I found a passport I would stick it on here for a day or two and if no response I would run it into the relevant Embassy where I am sure they would receive it with thanks and wait for it's owner to present themselves in a right state having lost said passport. Make someone's day.
I reckon they sell them to gentlemen from north western Africa who have a have a move or two for genuine passports.

I've never quite understood the anguish and drama some people experience with the loss of a passport. Yes, it's bit of an inconvenience but embassies are able to remedy the problem without much fuss.
