This video discusses the actual results of 138 nCoV cases admitted to a Wuhan hospital during January. 26% of cases requiring hospitalization required intensive care. 74% admitted to hospital were placed in standard general admission floors, but many of those lesser cases still required quite a bit of medical care to get to a "recovered" state.
4.3% mortality rate for patients who required hospitalization. Very high rate of medical personnel and other patients then being infected with the virus while working in or being in the same hospital alongside those patients already diagnosed with nCoV.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

New data shows people may have to be quarantined for up to 24 days now. Imagine being literally locked inside your little apartment in Wuhan or in a tiny windowless cruise ship cabin for 10 more days than you previously thought. Global supply chains will be wrecked, and that, for Americans. includes almost all medicines which are made in China or have some compounds made in China.

This one is certainly different than anything I have ever seen.

Apparently there is a " Super-Spreader" about

I have known a few super spreaders in my time but not like this

One of the men in quarantine was threatening to abscond, hence the very swift upgrade over the weekend of classification and the new compliance rules. I have never heard of such a thing, but anyone coming back from Wuhan cannot be expected to be allowed to roam free in the general population. If he doesn't like that he can always go back to Wuhan.

Anotherproblem is that if someone needs to be forced into quarantine, physically taken and restrained, all those police officers will also need to be quarantined after all the struggling, shouting, spitting? It could get very messy. Quarantine for up to 4 officers might be needed.

What a shitshow. Maybe they will make a reality show of the whole thing to defray the costs!

I seriously think these are reasonable and conservative figures. Got a supplier in Wuhan he told me whole city smells of death and crematorium are working non stop for past 2 weeks even though they brought in new mobile burners.
Yong... can I just ask how does a city smell of death? Crematorium emit smoke which will disperse, it's a very big place. Given that there is zero traffic in Wuhan I would imagine the air quality has never been so good.

Thailand denies Westerdam cruise ship entry, China virus toll passes 1,000

Thailand will not allow a cruise ship from Japan to let passengers disembark at the Laem Chabang port, Public Health Minister Anutin Charnvirakul said on Tuesday.

Mr Anutin posted a short Facebook message saying he has directed authorities not to allow the Westerdam ship to dock in Thailand.

The Bhumjaithai Party leader is the deputy prime minister in charge of transport.

The message was posted after the operator of the vessel announced on Monday the ship will let passengers off at the deep-sea port in Chon Buri on Thursday, Kyodo News reported.

The vessel carrying 1,455 passengers -- including four Japanese nationals -- and 802 crew members was scheduled to enter Naha Port in Okinawa prefecture on Saturday. But following Japan's order, the plan was cancelled.

The Japanese government denied entry to the Westerdam ship after a passenger was suspected of having caught the new coronavirus. It has also been denied debarking in Manila and Guam.

From Singapore to UK via the Alps: How one man spread the deadly coronavirus
A British man managed to pass on the coronavirus to at least 11 other people without ever setting foot in the epicentre of the outbreak in China, in an infectious journey that shows how the deadly virus can spread rapidly around a globalised world.

The adult British citizen, who has not been named publicly, caught the virus while attending a conference in Singapore and then passed it on to several compatriots while on holiday in the French Alps, before finally being diagnosed back in the UK.

Of those infected by the man, five have been hospitalised in France, five in Britain and one other man on the Spanish island of Mallorca.

POTUS reassures the world spring will solve the problem. Why don't the Chinese get that?
