The Man, the Legand, the Pervert

I'm a big fan, also with the Fabulous Freak Brothers.
Did you know he's retiring in south of France ?
A good pal of the true original Charlie Hebdo core, also with Marvin Van Peebles, and Bukowski a bit too.
An honor to host such an artist.

I liked American Splendor, good movie about him and around.

'American Splendor' is about Harvey Pekar.

Pekar used many different illustrators for his comics........Crumb was one of them, and he appears in the movie. Though played by and actor.

Fantastic movie none the less...........I'd highly recommend that film too. :thumb:

Aaah right, i remembered more Crumb than the new-to-me Pekar.
A fine bunch of misanthropic cartoons lovers in America.

The amount of details in his comics, the rawness of feelings, the harshness of social relations in a winner society, the strong-legged-women fantasies, what's not to like for us frogs ?

Too bad some of our finests cartoonists are not translated (afaik), we have some pretty good ones....i'll try to post a few samples.

Crumb is a 1994 documentary film about the noted underground cartoonist Robert Crumb and his family. Directed by Terry Zwigoff and produced by Lynn O'Donnell, it won widespread acclaim. It was released in the USA on April 28, 1995, having been screened at film festivals the previous year. Jeffery M. Anderson placed the film on his list of the ten greatest films of all time, labeling it "the greatest documentary ever made."
