Phnom Penh (FN), Jan. 28 – Pabio Chiho Kang, the new Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia, on Tuesday afternoon, paid a courtesy call on Cambodian Prime Minister HE at the Peace Palace Phnom Penh.

The ambassador pledged to further enhance the bilateral cooperation between Australia and Cambodia, especially in the areas of trade and investment, according to Eang Sophalleth, personal secretary to the premier.

Ambassador Pabio said Australia will have direct cooperation with Cambodian ministries, including the Ministries of Economy and Finance; Mines and Energy; Health; Interior, Defence, and Agriculture.

Prime Minister HE welcomed and congratulated the new Australian Ambassador for his appointment to Cambodia.

The premier took note that Australia has assisted Cambodia in the pursuit of peace in the past. In particular, Australia had focused aids on Cambodia’s agriculture. To be specific, established a Cardi Institute, which helps boost Cambodian rice production, and to become world's number one rice exporter.

The premier said Cambodia and Australia possess good relations in many frameworks, including the United Nation, ASEAN, East-Asia Summit, and RCEP.

Australia established diplomatic relations with Cambodia in 1952.

Half his family? Somewhat of a gross exaggeration.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Oh dear, the khmer news got his name wrong  ..his name is actually Pablo...apparently his parents of Korean origin named him after Pablo Picasso. Anyway, Pablo seems to be a career public servant that previously served as ambassador to the UAE and Vanuatu.

AKP Phnom Penh, February 06, 2020 --

Cambodia has requested Australia to increase its scholarships for Cambodian students in order to build more Cambodian human resources, a key factor for the country’s rapid development.

The request was made by Samdech Akka Moha Ponhea Chakrei Heng Samrin, President of the National Assembly (NA), while receiving here at the NA Palace this morning H.E. Pablo Chiho Kang, newly appointed Ambassador of Australia to Cambodia.

The NA president also sought support from Australia in promoting the cooperation between the two countries in the fields of trade, investment and tourism.

Samdech Heng Samrin lauded the good relations and close cooperation between both countries’ legislative and executive bodies, and recalled his participation in the 28th Annual Meeting of the Asia-Pacific Parliamentary Forum in Canberra.

In reply, H.E. Pablo Chiho Kang noted many Australian investors and tourists doing business and visiting Cambodia. He also laid stress on Australia’s assistance to the Kingdom in mine clearance, agriculture, rural development, good governance, democracy, and so on.

Every single utterance from all parties assumes a one way flow of benefits only
- but perversely, the giver grovels and the receiver imperiously asks for more.

This has always been the Khmer way. Ever see the history museum in Siem Reap? According to the museum, what lasting contribution did the international community give to Cambodia? The answer: working girls and AIDS.
