This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.
Would you prefer to share breakfast with a Turk, drinking Turkish coffee out of a tiny Turkish coffee cup?
Or with an American, drinking American coffee out of an America sized mug?

I’d rather eat alone.
Once you've read the dictionary, every other book is just a remix.

Probably not a bad second choice, but I’ll go with the Turk. So long as he doesn’t try to sell me something from the bazaar.
American coffee is to coffee what gutter oil is to stir fry.
While we’re bashing coffee cup stature, I wonder if we can fix the bit where a pot of tea involves a smallish teapot filled with not quite hot water, and a teabag still in its paper wrapper on the tray next to the pot?
I asked for a pot of tea, not a DIY project.
Pot, pre-warmed, big enough for at least three cups.
Tea, ideally loose leaf. Assam, Pekoe or lapSang.
Hot water.

There I thought this was going to be about coffee mugs in hotel rooms being cleaned with the bath mat.....
Oh, Christ......please tell me that doesn't happen.
That and worse.....
Please continue.
In some countries, housekeeping staff are from outsourced companies and have to clean up to 30!!! rooms in an 8-hour shift. They cannot waste time, so do not expect that glasses are carried to the pantry to be placed in a dishwasher and then carried up again....
You may also not want to touch the bedspread (not cleaned often), disinfect the TV remote (never cleaned) and avoid rooms with carpets.
And the video below from China is probably an extreme; the guest must have pissed off the housekeeping staff.
In Asia, staff clean a lot less rooms per day and I expect shortcuts like that to happen less, though I have done checks in the past.
