Doesnt matter how many patents you have someone in asia will be knocking out cheap copies. patent lawyers are expesnive and its a long process and you may have to patent in many different countries. Unless you can hide bits succssfully like a recipe for example it will be copied and then what you gonna do? you have enough money to start a patent case against a chinese billionaire?

Depending on the patent, he can sell it to someone who can start such a case and profit healthily from it.

Think millions of knockoffs sold, millions in license fees.

Heck, the Chinese billionaire might be even interested in buying if their knockoff is doing well. Now he is not the knockoff anymore.
