I got your joke as I'm sure others did.
But these threads are fun when they pop up. my wife gets a kick when she hears me practicing them.

Still here, in country...

Don't know but a couple of months ago put a Thai girl's shoe on her head the day she'd travelled 3 hours and back to visit a holy temple.
That wasn't a great move so far as my romantic aspirations were concerned.
It wasn't meant to be offensive, I had just taken her shoes off to give her another foot massage, didn't want to drop her shoes on the floor and was looking for somewhere to put them when I did it as a 'joke' without thinking.
I was profusely apologetic when I realised what I'd done, but she wasn't happy, understandably.

I once asked a lady, in her forties, if she was from Vietnam.
She went ballistic, verbally, on me.
Me no Vietnam, me Cambodia. No f…… Vietnam, me f…….. hate Vietnam. Me Cambodia.
This went on for a minute or so.
The irony is that I know many people who have known here for many years and she is, indeed, from Vietnam.
Go figure.
