Cintri Garbage Company to be Nationalized Says PM
Re: Cintri Garbage Company to be Nationalized Says PM
I've never seen the garbage piles as bad as this, even during KNY holidays. It really is out of control.
All we need now is for the power cuts to start, the corona virus to spread uncontrollably and for the hot season to start and the pain/pleasure balance of living in this city will become so seriously tilted towards the 'time to leave' area, I think many will (if they can).
Give it a month and we might be there...

I noticed there were no / very few fly's on the chickens and pork being sold just metre's away from all the stinking rubbish, so having a stinking pile of rubbish serves a good purpose.

Waste Collectors for Phnom Penh Being on Board
AKP Phnom Penh, June 18, 2020 --
The Phnom Penh authority is engaging three waste collection firms to ensure effective waste management in the capital.
The news was shared by Phnom Penh Governor H.E. Khuong Sreng in a recent press conference, adding that the companies come to replace the current and only-one licensed trash collector CINTRI.
According to the governor, 3,000 tonnes of wastes are being generated every day in Phnom Penh alone, as it is now home to about 3 million temporary and permanent residents.
Waste management remains in the top agenda of Phnom Penh capital hall, and so far the authority has also established waste management teams to oversee the services.
H.E. Khuong Sreng was positive that once in operation, the three companies will be able to handle the waste in Phnom Penh.
