We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

20 January 2020, Vietnam: At the border between Cambodia and Vietnam, Moc Bai Customs Branch in cooperation with Tay Ninh Customs Department arrested a Filipino woman for illegal transport of 5kg of crystal methamphetamine, also known as ice.
Image
Ms Gabog Cortez Madelyn was detained while crossing the border from Cambodia into Vietnam when sniffer dogs detected a suspicious smell coming from her luggage. The authorities then thoroughly searched the woman's possessions and discovered 5kgs of drugs concealed in plastic in the lining of five day-packs that she was carrying inside her suitcase.
Image
Ms Cortez is originally from Manila City in the Philippines, but she has been working in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam for 5 years now. Vietnam drug investigation police say that they suspect that the member of a drug gang in Vietnam sent the woman across the border to pick up the drugs, and they are attempting to identify the Vietnamese organiser. Drug trafficking carries heavy penalties in Vietnam.

Another ruined life. Is/was the quick buck ever worth it to the mules? I do wonder as I often feel bad for them.

Would be so easy to attach a ''' tracker system '' to the package and let it be delivered. But I think it may be more a case of ,, I caught this mule and I will get the promotion for the good work,,, rather then let her go and someone else get the rewards.
Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Cambodia News, Vietnam: Another shipment of crystal methamphetamine was seized at the Cambodian-Vietnamese border on the first day of the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Rat ( 25 January 2020), by Moc Bai Customs Department - Tay Ninh Customs Department and the Southern Region Anti-Drug Control Team (Team 6).
The Anti-Smuggling Investigation Department, of the General Department of Customs in Vietnam cooperated with the MT919 special forces to successfully arrest SOK LIEPH, a Cambodian national, in possession of 13kg of crystal methamphetamine, 1,000 ecstasy pills, and thousands of US dollars, as well as documents related to the drug trade.
Image
The drugs were found in a carton containing 5 high pressure car wash pumps, where the insides had been removed to hide drugs in them, and then sent by coach from Cambodia to Vietnam. The Cambodian man was an employee of the bus company.
Image
Note that the methamphetamine was packaged as Guanyinwang Chinese tea ,a well-known means of disguising ice for smuggling in Cambodia and across South East Asia. The ecstasy pills were disguised in boxes of legal medicine.

You owe me money. Take this bag across the border. No? I know where your family lives. Somebody will pay.

What i struggle to understand is who consumes all this sh*t in SEA. It can’t be all foreigners, right? I mean there are junkies and alcoholics in the west because women don’t respect men there any more. Many young guys in the west go and try this sh*t like in the pictures. But in SEA?! Men here have the best women in the world that westerners fly thousands of miles to get a taste of, asian men can live and enjoy themselves. Why they have to get doped is what i can’t wrap my brain around. Or is it all foreigner junkies here that consume this sh*t?

Huh? Where are you living? South East Asia in general and Cambodia in particular have a huge junkie problem with their local (mostly young) population.
