Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Canadian doctors are urging concerned citizens to take the same sorts of precautions they would to avoid common illnesses, such as frequent hand-washing and coughing into the arm or sleeve rather than the hand.
They also say that wearing surgical masks during everyday life has little use in protecting against coronavirus, despite being effective in hospital settings. Early data on the new form of virus suggests masks won’t be especially effective, and some say that repeatedly touching and adjusting the masks with unwashed hands could do more harm than good.
But the fear that would prompt someone to buy such a mask is perhaps heightened by parallels to the 2002 SARS outbreak that originated in China and infected more than 8,000 people, killing 800. There were 44 Canadians killed by that strain of coronavirus.

This seems to be the last on the subject by WHO if up to date -
The Latest: WHO says "too early" to declare novel coronavirus global emergency
"Make no mistake, though, this is an emergency in China. But it has not yet become a global health emergency. It may yet become one," said WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Tedros said China has taken measures it believes appropriate to contain the spread of coronavirus in Wuhan and other cities and WHO hoped that they will be both effective and short in their duration. He also thanked the Chinese government for its cooperation and transparency.

Always "hope" but never "expect".

Re: Outbreak of Unidentified Coronavirus In China as New Year Approaches
Well, my daughter had to stay home as she caught a cold and fever from the CNY trip to Peam Ro
She was really burning up last night so had to cover her with wet towels.
She has somewhat recovered this morning and the fever is down.
My son is at home as if Northbridge closes then in my opinion it means 'no school'.
So now he's at home annoying everyone with his monkey antics and tormenting his sister.
I won't be sending them until some kind of grip is obtained on the situation.

It used to be called Doctors and Nurses.
But now, in our progressive societies it is called, " Healthcare professionals of unspecified gender designation engaging in non-submissive and expressly consented adult activities"
