Belgian Prison Gets “Greetings from Thailand” Postcard from Escapee

A man who escaped from a Belgian prison last month has sent his former jailers a postcard with the message “Greetings from Thailand”. Management of Turnhout prison believe the greeting letter was from Oualid Sekkaki.

Sekkaki is one of the five detainees who escaped from the Flemish prison in mid-December.

“The letter was addressed to the three directors. In the envelope was his prison badge and a postcard with [the words] ‘Greetings from Thailand,’” a prison guard told HLN.

Along with four other inmates, Sekkaki escaped from Turnhout prison on Thursday 19 December. They made their getaway by climbing over the prison wall. Then escaping in a getaway car that was waiting for them.

[The four other prisoners were recaptured, but Sekkaki disappeared, before allegedly sending a cheeky postcard from Thailand to his ex-prison guards in Belgium.]

Well hasn't he just elevated himself to #1 on the fuckers to catch list. Funny for a moment, but the memory (and malice) of governments is very long.

It would be easy to get someone to fly to Thailand to post it. I bet they are doing all sorts of DNA tests on it, card source tracing etc. Maybe it will throw up an accomplice.

A very daft idea that could come back to bite him. He'll look a right mug if it does...

His older brother has escaped many times - last time I recall it was by hijacked helicopter.

They are both big drug runners.

His brother's in a morrocan jail doing a 12 stretch.

What happened to that other fella that was flaunting it on Facebook whilst either in Thailand or having just escaped, think he might have been an English bloke? Or from the Netherlands? Definitely white and around 30s
