Cheapest SE asian city for Backpackers

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Why aren't the idiots hanging about in girly bars instead.
Fucking man-bunned, fisherman-pant wearing, yoga-ridden, vego-fuelled, non-stop, continuos-merry-go-round, grinning-from-ear-to-ear, sex addicts.

We should shame them all on CEO.

you cross off Pokkhara Nepal which you should. People are kind of ratty.
it appears that by today (if it is automatically updated) siem reap and PP are the cheapest
VN would make such a fuss over visas, my guess is that you would wind up paying more

but SR would if memory serves have fewer food choice and places to go compared to PP
so I would say PP where you can get a dorm bed for $5, hotel for $20
you can get a sandwich for $2 and a bowl of decent beef soup for $3
or self cater from Sorya
When I need advice about life, I just check in here.

You can do that in Phuket, ( 7/11-sandwich) AND the soup will be $2.

Or in Penang
or in Mandalay
or in Inle lake
or in Kathmandu
or in lake toba
or in Most of northern thailand ( Pai, Chaing Rai, Korat, Surin etc etc) food halls in every city you can have a meal for $2-3)

Thats why I chose Siem, it attracts a wealthier and higher class of arrogant dope smoking tatooed know it all STINKY dreadlocked elephant pants scum as opposed to other places, which attract truly the foul.

I was a young backpacker once with tatoos and beads and a spliff in my mouth, but my politics were righteous and I bathed every day. Sometimes twice a day. So no matter what anyone can say about me, I dont smell. And I always tip.

My fav thing here in Angkorland is listtening to the backpackers talk about their adventures. "yeah dude, so I went to the border and they would let me in, I hate Thailand". "Fucking cops threw me out of Vietnam, they wanted $50 and we didnt have it". Etc

Trang in Thailand's pretty cheap.

Seem to remember Myanmar in general was cheap (everything was shit as well mind).

Battambang's not bad.

Definitely some good value in Vietnam.
