Thanx guys......and they say that the English language is the richest language on Earth (the latest Oxford English Dictionary (2nd edition) boasts over 600,000 definitions).

Let's make a little test:

What is this ????

What is this :

Or that ??

And now what the fuck is that ??? Can't be so difficult. There must be a word "XYXYXY" so when people read it e.g. on a menu they know automatically that they will get that:

and not that.....there's a difference

Und der Haifisch der hat Tränen
Und die laufen vom Gesicht
Doch der Haifisch lebt im Wasser
So die Tränen sieht man nicht

In der Tiefe ist es einsam
Und so manche Träne fliesst
Und so kommt es dass das Wasser
In den Meeren salzig ist

There's some irony to the fact that rissole, patty and cutlet all have French origins...

hey now mr english as a 2nd language- your rissoles are faggots in england when cylindrical sausage shape.

in your pic above you have some sausage roll that is far from being a rissole.
you show some pasties, empanadas of dubious national origin, other things covered in pastry and breadcrumbs.
a rissole is never cloaked. you will see the contents. sure- it is stretched a bit but no need to disguise.
these abominations are largely european.

yeah, english is rich- enough to spread on the fields, it is a bastard pidgin, for that reason complex, efficient, verbose, and illogical.
it has so many words because it steals them wholesale, that is maybe why they call it english. :-)

over half the lexicon is scientific and technical.

the germans strength and weakness was in the structure.

lazy english took over.

your original photo though, is of something that looks kinda nameless in any language.

if it was made from salmon i would eat it.

what is it trying to hide anyway?

now i would advise you to contemplate the old fashioned dish of the USA military known as SOS for your further enlightenment of atlantic cuisine.
like bacolod, salt is a major ingredient.
it is so bad, that people forced to eat it actually got to like it.
maybe like prahoc?

Possibly like SCRAN cooked by the Fitters and Turners (with a shout-out to Mrs Stroppy's BIL Commander).
