Korean Man Drowns in Siem Reap Buggy Accident
Cambodia News (Siem Reap): On January 15, 2020, at 5 pm, two Korean tourists drove their rental buggy into a fishing pond in Tachok village, Sangkat Srogne, Siem Reap. The victims were identified as JANG SEONGSU, a 22-year-old Korean man, who drowned at the accident scene, and LEE GYUHONG, a 25-year-old man.
The victims were tourists staying at Angkor Royal Resort. The pair rented a buggy to drive around the city, but tragically, the four-wheeler fell into the 25-meter deep pond, and the victims and the vehicle sank below the water.
One of the victims, LEE GYUHONG, managed to swim away and escape, but his companion, JANG SEONGSU, was missing. The body was found on January 16, after local people used a fishing net to sweep the pond. RIP.

Its amazing to watch some of these folk drive around on 4 wheel off road vehicles. Many of them can barely steer while going 10 km an hour. Some even need an employee to sit behind them and effectively operate the vehicle for them. They are a danger to anyone else on the road.
Cambodia would do well to order them off public streets. Build go-kart facilities and haul the tourist off to them to drive around and play pretend.

That's not a go-kart...TWY wrote: ↑Thu Jan 16, 2020 1:58 pm Its amazing to watch some of these folk drive around on 4 wheel off road vehicles. Many of them can barely steer while going 10 km an hour. It's an ATV buggy.
The difference is considerable.

The parents must be devastated.
That dune buggy was too much machine for that kid and he was on unfamiliar ground.
Such a sad story.
How many hours..minutes..seconds of training did this kid have before taking off down the road?
Now, who pays for the damage to the machine?
A devastated parent? The kid who swam to safety?
Brutal.

I've come across these tours many times and as TWY wrote: some of the riders seems to be incapable of riding a training bike, never mind an ATV.

He must have hit his head and been knocked unconscious. Otherwise surely he could have escaped the buggy and the water.
What a sad way to go out of this world.
