Drunk Teenager Run Over by Train in Battambang

Cambodia News (Battambang): On the night of January 7, 2020, at around midnight, an 18-year-old boy, Choun Chantou, died after he was hit by a train in Kok Trol village, Thmorko district, Battambang.

Before the incident, the victim was very drunk. He started walking along the railway tracks while a train was coming toward him. He was hit and killed instantly. The police went to the scene to check the accident and returned the body to his family for funeral preparation. RIP.

It looks as though the train driver had quite an obstructed view of the track and couldn't stop in time.

What's with hanging out/ sleeping/ doing drunk people stuff on train tracks here?

To be fair I can't imagine stopping a 100+ tonne train in time to not run over some drunk dude who just appeared in the headlights is very easily accomplished

Yes in my old place back in Lancashire three of my young school friends chose that way (one in his pyjamas with his favorite teddy bear alongside him). Tragic.
