ReLEx SMILE Eye Surgery Discussion
May I ask if anyone here have ever done the ReLEx SMILE eye correction surgery?
As I read this is a newer procedure compared to LASIK may I ask those who had done this procedure how is your experience? I have currently have long and short sightedness and also astigmatism. I am sick and tired of having to deal with glasses.

Re: ReLEx SMILE Eye Surgery Discussion
I did the femto lazik and I am happy with results. I was short sighted with astigmatism. Would certainly go for the Relex if it was available at the time.
I could tell right after the procedure that my vision was sharp even though it was like looking through a fog. Vision was clear within a day or two. Had dry eyes for a couple months, but by 6 months no more need for eye drops. I guess the only negative is that my night vision seems to be worse, though I couldn't see anything without glasses/contacts before.
IMO, worth every penny, but do inform yourself, as some people have not had good results.

Not heard about this treatment but my cousins wife had laser treatment years ago when it was new. The hospital would only do one eye at a time in case there were problems. She got an infection in the first eye they did and could not see out of it for 3 weeks. There were no problems with the second eye. She was told that at her age (50) she made need it to be repeated as your eyes deteriorate with age

May I ask you if the astigmatism problem eradicated?Khmer_Risotto wrote: ↑Thu Jan 02, 2020 6:38 pm I did the femto lazik and I am happy with results. I was short sighted with astigmatism. Would certainly go for the Relex if it was available at the time.

Re: ReLEx SMILE Eye Surgery Discussion
Went for eye checking by specialist today to determine what to do to correct my eye with LASIK after a long examination doctor told me my eyes not suitable for any laser treatment because I have cataracts in both eyes. Sad, was looking forward to not wearing glasses. So now I have to live with it.
Re: ReLEx SMILE Eye Surgery Discussion
getting the cataract fixed would help your vision. When my cousins wife was lasered they told her that it was not recommended for people over 50 as your eyes changebetween 50 and 60. if you are short sighted it will correct before going longsighted or summat like that. I needed glasses for diatance until mid 50's then my eyes changed and iI I did not need glasses at all for about 2 years and then i started to have problems with reading and distance.yong wrote: ↑Thu Jan 09, 2020 7:43 pm Went for eye checking by specialist today to determine what to do to correct my eye with LASIK after a long examination doctor told me my eyes not suitable for any laser treatment because I have cataracts in both eyes. Maybe you should get a seond opinion before giving up
