Re: 22-Year-Old Gendarme Dies in Crash with Sihanoukville Truck
Just a piece of advice for (new?) motorcyclists driving to Sihanoukville. The stretch of road on National road 4 just outside of Sihanoukville is particularly dangerous after dark. I would avoid doing this on a motorbike if possible, there are so many trucks with no brakes, inept drivers etc. During the day it is confusing, but less dangerous IMO. The amount of trucks on the road is often crazy.

Any road in Cambodia outside of towns after dark is like playing russian roulette. Drunks, dogs, motorbikes with no light, motrbike with no lights on wrong side of the road. Its bad enoughin the lighted streets of Phnome Pemh but I would not drive in the countryside anymore unless i was in a tank
