Kampot Cop Run Over While Directing Traffic

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Kampot to PP is only like 3 + hours
Vietnam hospitals are closer, cheaper and often better. Bear in mind the border is 20 mins drive from Kampot town, if in a hurry.

Yeah the video is shocking. I thought for sure his legs got ran over as well.

One thing though, that I found very odd about the video is that there were something like 3 people in close proximity to the cop and all of them ran after the offending vehicle.

They didn't even so much as look down at the cop as they ran past him.

I would have thought someone would have checked on the cop instead of racing after the truck, hoping to join in on a rock throwing lynching or whatever they were intending to do with the driver.

They are not equipped for to serious cases/surgery however they will stabilize you for transport to a different hospital.

If you walk in with a bad cough or because it burns when you pee, sure.

It's 40km, if you don't go as far as kampong trach. And yeah, better hospitals in Vietnamese cities and towns than here...

You would think that this sort of thing would motivate the powers that be to create some respect for authority and a little more awareness of the sense of law and order. But hey, it's the Kingdom of Wonder right?
