I have a rattle from a southeastern rattle snake in my apartment in Siem Reap.
They get run over crossing roads. I did not kill the snake. I got out and cut the rattle off..they usually have a rattle for each time they shed their skin
I did shoot one next to my house years ago and my neighbor cooked it...it needed some garlic butter basting.
I have been intrigued by snakes since I was a kid.
Khmer people eat about a million snakes a year around Siem Reap.
I love when I see that a big snake is saved.
But, a bit apprehensive for how long.
