Thai work permit for KHMER

Thailand is Cambodia's neighbor to the West, and this forum is dedicated to Thai news, stories, reviews, blogs, videos, Thai people and anything else related to the country. A lot of expats have both lived and worked in Cambodia and Thailand, and this area is a place to discuss all aspects of life in Thailand and what's going on there. Most topics are about Bangkok and Pattaya because of their larger populations of expatriates and tourists in those cities, but this is for all things Thai.

Thai work permit for KHMER

Post by frank lee bent »

I will be sharing an employee with my expat trading partner in thailand.
Idea is, he will work one month in Cambo, and one in Thailand.

Can anyone advise on what documentation is required by the Thais to get a work permit for Cambodians?

MY gf has one
same criteria as for any non thai
2 million baht company worth/registration
4 thai employees
come into Thailand on a tourist visa ( valid for 60 days)
apply for wp at labor dept
travel to Laos/Cambodia thai embassy/consolute- get single entry with invite letter, receipt from Labor dept that wp has been applied for, all docs.
come back and get wp an than extend visa to 1 year

IF they have never had a wp or passport they can try an get a migrant wp/visa ( L-A visa) valid for 2 years

Her wp cost me 8,500 baht, took about 6 weeks to get all paperwork together
visa single entry 2,000 baht, 1 year 5,800 baht
she pays tax on income of 25,000/month ( 1,720 baht)
