French Ex-Con PATRICK DALLARI Nabbed for Illegal Entry into Cambodia
Phnom Penh, Cambodia News: At 10:30 am, on 19 December 2019 a French national named PATRICK JEAN BAPTISTE DALLARI , aged 61, was apprehended after he went to the Phnom Penh Municipal Police Office to report a lost passport.
After questioning, the Frenchman admitted that he had illegally crossed the frontier from Thailand near the Poipet border crossing because he had no passport. Furthermore, police inquiries revealed that Patrick Daliari has previously spent time, in a French prison on robbery and murder charges.
UPDATE: After some research, CEO News has discovered that a Frenchman called Patrick DALLARI was convicted in a sordid case of causing the death of a 22-year-old female Croatian student in Marseilles in 2011. He was sentenced to 4 years in prison, but did not appear at his trial.
If this is the same man, then he may well be listed on the international wanted list by French police, and this would explain why he was crossing borders illegally without a passport, and why he was arrested immediately at the Phnom Penh police station. The investigation continues.

If it's the same guy, it looks like he was chasing her and she got hit by a car. That's an unlucky way to get convicted of murder.

He had a tumultuous relationship with her, including : beating her, breaking in her appartment, stealing stuff, kidnapping her dog with ransom (!), and they were in the same car, having an argument, when she left the car on foot in a hurry and got hit by a car on the road.
Crocodiles would have been fine. Unfortunately the police was quicker.

Thanks for the translation. But it begs the question, why is he being charged with anything? If she voluntarily left the vehicle and then got hit by a separate vehicle, how can any direct blame be attached to him?
If he forced he out of the car on a high speed motorway then maybe, but if she left of her own accord then how is any criminal liability attached to him?

Aix: Odious lover on the run is judged on appeal
Women do simply not leave Patrick Dallari. And Dephina, beautiful blonde student from Croatia, lost her life after several attempts to break up with the Marsellais. Was he responsible ? On 26 January 2011, the judge decided that he was guilty of involuntary homicide and sentenced him to 4 years prison. But Dallari did not wait for the sentence and went on the run.[At the time the article was published, there was a warrant out for his arrest.]
The court learnt that Dallari has a history of violence and had previously served an 18 year prison sentence for attempted homicide. He broke into the victim's apartment twice, kidnapped her dog with a demand for ransom, and the Croatian woman was seen at work with bruises on her face. At the time of her death, the forensic specialists noted that she had bruises on her face and arms that were made prior to her death.
In the absence of Patrick Dallari, the tribunal decided that he had created the conditions responsible for the woman's death. She left Dallari's car while it was on the speedway and was killed by a car coming in the opposite direction when she tried to cross the road to escape from the car.
What is not clear, is whether Dallari has since done his time in prison for this crime, or whether he is still a fugitive from French justice.

if she reported the breakins and assaults and kidnapping to the police there shoudl be an enquiry into the polices actions. there is very little protection for victims of domestic violence around the world as police fail to prosecute and put it down to a lovers tiff. Interestingly this is now becoming an issue for men who are with husband beaters and the women claim PMT asa an excuse https://news.sky.com/story/i-wept-and-w ... e-11890766
