Trump Impeached

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

This is exactly what the founding fathers worried about. The legislative branch using impeachment as a political tool against the executive branch to settle a disagreement over governance.

Delaying a shipment of Javelins by a few weeks isn’t a high crime. Stonewalling Congress was done extensively the former president. If the name was changed from Trump to Obama would the same thing happen? Obama would have declared that it was racism and everyone would be afraid to be accused of being politically incorrect.

But don’t worry, the genie is out of the bottle now. Expect impeachment or the threat of impeachment to be trotted out in the future whenever legislators disagree with the president.

Obama should be on trial. He withheld aid to Ukraine. He did nothing to stop Russia from taking Crimea from Ukraine which the US was obligated to assist.

I agree, it stops at the Senate who will just vote on party lines.

But that enables the Democrats to start the election by shouting that he has been impeached ( the indictment) and only evaded justice in The Senate (the jury) due to a partisan vote, a.k.a. a fixed jury.

They can then shout, "HE's a crook, lock HIM up!" as he did against Clinton.

I still think he will win again, and comfortably. He's just very good at their game and they hate that...

So the vote to impeach in the House is Representatives wasn’t partisan, wasn’t along party lines, wasn’t fixed? The Democrats must have been drinking way too much of the kool aid from the mainstream media.

And what was the political result of the Clinton impeachment? The Republicans lost control of the House of Representatives.

As an aside, besides Clinton, Andrew Johnson was the only other president to be impeached. He was one vote short in the Senate from being removed from office. As successor to Abraham Lincoln, he used proclamations to undo all the consequences of the Civil War. He campaigned vigorously against the 14th Amendment.

Nonsense, they were worried about presidents breaking laws and acting with impunity.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

If I remember correctly, the GOP did call for Obama's impeachment. Several times (Benghazi, Libya, UAVs). Did you hear Obama or his press secretary saying that the GOP was after him because nobody likes a "dindu nuffin" in the white house? No? I thought so.
The difference is, Obama never publicly talked about grabbing women by the pussy, building a wall at Mexico's expense, requiring a form of ID to go grocery shopping and other idiotic ideas that only a poorly educated constituency would gobble.
But don’t worry, the genie is out of the bottle now. Expect impeachment or the threat of impeachment to be trotted out in the future whenever legislators disagree with the president.
Political amnesia at its finest. The last couple of presidents were all, at some point, subject to an investigation that could've eventually led to an impeachment.
