Well the locals feel it's more than worth the drama. And as for "illegal" in Cambodia what does that mean in a country that has the best laws money can buy?

Without the lake, it cannot come back. The Buddhas of Bamiyan have been demolished.

The Controversy over the Buddhas of Bamiyan
