How long to you have to be in a place

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

Happy to catch up for coffee JP, sounds like our similar community experience gives us a common perspective on how poorly pumping aid dollars into this society actually performs. I've met only a few NGO crew that I have any time or respect for, these are the ones out actually "doing" rather than justifying their expenses by "taking". These few are the leaders I want to learn from.

Not NGO, just a lowly teacher. Happy to catch up for coffee some time nonetheless.

My point was that many NGOs - the types that have endless meetings rather than doing anything meaningful - will throw money at a need and not achieve an outcome other than wealthier NGO staff. The link was that this happens to excess in oz in the communities.

I know a small handful of NGO people who are "doing it right" and impacting lives, and I want to be more like these guys.

None of it was a reflection on you - I too am a humble teacher and would be happy to have coffee with you and fix the world. Let's discuss in PM.
