The Flicks is closing within 5 months

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Ramon Stoppelenburg finally will throw in the towel. Was a long time coming, I'm afraid.

On the website (http://www.theflicks.asia/) it says: THE FLICKS CLOSES PERMANENTLY ON MAY 1, 2020.

Still, it's the end of an era, with him running it for - what, more than 10 years!
At one point I think The Flicks had 3 venues (incl. 1 at The Empire on St. 130).

Hey, i thought deep and meaningful Hollywood would be a sure fire winner.
Obviously not enough shallow-heads in Phnom Penh these days.
Go to a foreign land. Make it one of the most culturally interesting and diverse little cities in the world. Entertain yourself with wild nights out watching Brad Pitt movies.

The backpackers still flock around the non-stop reruns of Friends on the communal TV. Maybe The Flicks crowd will move over there now.
