My girlfriend is a tourguide.
Re: My girlfriend is a tourguide.
I know a couple (now married) that did these tours before. I think socializing along with the tours is quite normal, coffees or dinners or drinks.
If she doesn’t do these normal activities with the customer it would knock her down a bit in terms of how the customer enjoyed their time and would tip her.

Just on that point...yes, I have expat friends where once their girlfriend has moved in, they thought 'right, I have a sugar daddy now so I don't have to work anymore'.stupid-barang wrote: ↑Sun Dec 08, 2019 8:37 pm Come we know the drill. If he was giving her money, she would not have to take these type of jobs.
Equally, I know some expats where their girlfriends want to work and make their own money regardless of how much money he gives her. These girls do it for their self worth/independence and coz they don't want to be lazy hanging around at home watching TV, spending too much time on FB, eating too much, going to KTVs with the friends et al.
Stereotypes do not always apply imo.

Re: My girlfriend is a tourguide.
It sounds like she's being directed more towards being an "escort" than a tour guide. Does she use her photo in her profile on these sites soliciting clients?
It is unusual for tour guides to go to bars with clients, meet them for coffee after the tour is over, or share a hotel room.
"I had to book a shared hotel room for us" is complete and utter nonsense.
It sounds to me like if she's not on the game then she's totally naive and setting herself up to sexually assaulted.
Single guys visiting Cambodia don't need round the clock tour guides. If she tells this latest client that her male colleague will be doing the tour instead this client is going to cancel in heartbeat.

Re: My girlfriend is a tourguide.
OP - she has a tour guide license. Why not join a tour company that links with Viator / TripAdvisor, give group tours, instead of this risky one-on-one tours with single men on an App for locals with no tour license?

Sorry, am i old fashioned?
Since when was it ok to tell a bloke his girl is a hooker, or imply it?
When you don't know him or the girl?

Look it up in the dictionary. Any proper response to this question will be met by “no need for” mod edits. You should be banned for baiting users into posting banned words. Re: My girlfriend is a tourguide.
Just one guide from the app itself. Let forum members be the judge.
Again, the OP’s better half is a professional tour guide. It’s probably safer for her to join a reputable tour company, and do group tours.

Remove the photo immediately. There is no need for derogatory speculation. That could be OPs girlfriend.

Calm down Fax.
I was just expressing my opinion too - without abuse.
And i will repeat it to be clear.
PS - personally i don't believe in just letting everything be decided by the Mods - sure they are the ultimate arbiter but i see this as a participating community.
