Stolen Gods

Have questions or resources regarding Khmer Culture? This forum is all about the Kingdom of Cambodia's culture. Khmer language, Cambodian weddings, French influence, Cambodian architecture, Cambodian politics, Khmer customs, etc? This is the place. Living in Cambodia can cause you to experience a whole new level of culture shock, so feel free to talk about all things related to the Khmer people, and their traditions. And if you want something in Khmer script translated into English, you will probably find what you need.

In the news today -
Antiquities dealer Douglas Latchford has been charged by the Southern District of New York with several counts of smuggling looted Cambodian artefacts.

I also found this website for those who like collecting archives -
Stolen Gods Reporting the theft and destruction of sacred art from around the world
a compendium of news stories about stolen antiquities from around the world.
this is the Cambodian page- patchy, but still a bit of an Aladdin's cave

Cambodia,,,, Don't fall in love with her.
Like the spoilt child she is, she will not be happy till she destroys herself from within and breaks your heart.

Since the dawn of the new age in 1968, Duncan, there have been two kinds of people
Those that always have a well thumbed copy of Erich Von Daniken in the house
-and us others.
