Man Goes Fishing, Is Found Dead in Rice Paddy
Kompong Speu, Cambodia News: A man who went out fishing in Kampong Speu province on the night of 17 November, 2019, was found dead by villagers the next morning with a bag of fish tied around his waist.
Chin Chhoeun, the mother of the victim, 64, said that on the night of 17.11-2019 at 23:00, her son, 22-year-old Toun Sarith, went out of the house to fish by flashlight in the nearby ponds with two friends. The two men say that they split up and left the victim fishing at the scene alone.
When the body was discovered in a rice paddy the next day, after inspection, the police declared that no foul play was suspected, and the death was due to natural causes so they gave the body to the family for the funeral rites.
