Cambodia taxi information
Re: Cambodia taxi information
I am in the process of arranging transport for 15 people. This will be from Phnom Penh to Kep, visiting Bokor/Kampot/Caves/Beach/Market over 3 days, 4th day returning to Phnom Penh with a stop at the airport on the way. We will either have a van or a minibus, currently bring priced at around $350-400 including the driver.
I started with this list working my way down. Many of these have websites you can see prices for taxi/van/bus. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions ... _Penh.html
If anybody wanted to rent a car, I found this https://www.facebook.com/pnhcam/ but can't vouch as I never used them. They rent for $350ish a month but would do weekly.

I thought you were talking about shared taxis and minibuses? Using them you can save $200.explorer wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 7:39 pmYou might pay $80 from Phnom Penh to Siem Reap by private taxi. You might pay less than $10 by bus, a savings of $70. If you do the same for a return trip, that is a savings of $140. That is a lot of meals for a person with limited financial resources. Normally buses are fairly good.John Bingham wrote: ↑Mon Nov 18, 2019 6:38 pm Yes, for the sake of saving a few lousy bucks you can spend 5 hours with someone sitting on your lap and someone else's elbow in your guts while being squashed from the side by an old lady with tuberculosis.
For those new to Cambodia, you can either book a taxi for just yourself, or share the taxi with others. Those wanting to save money, may share a taxi, or catch a bus. The minivans are often a little cheaper than share taxis and buses, but a lot of the drivers don't speak English. Taxis and minivans are often a bit faster than buses.
Silence, exile, and cunning.
