Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Russian Arrested for Killing Student While Driving Drunk

Post by Joker Poker »

Not sure if this has been posted elsewhere, but we need to get the Sihanoukville cops in PP to look for the girl that killed the Irishman.

A Russian man was arrested in Sihanoukville in the early hours of Sunday morning for allegedly killing a 21-year-old student when he lost control of his car while driving drunk and crashed into the victim’s motorbike, police said Monday.

Says he works at Snake House. He's probably connected enough to walk.

Money changes hands, the police/judge get new Lexis's, the family gets a few dollars and he walks. And the beat goes on.

playing devil's advocate, the girl was probably driving in the wrong lane or in the middle of the road, maybe with no lights and no helmet.
that's classic Snooky.

but yeah, if he's one of the crooks from Snake House he's got nothing to fear.

another life wasted.

Is anything going to happen to him?

Mr. Beecher's incident and this one...one suspect is a local and with money, one is not a local but which we can assume is connected.

When I showed both stories to a government official, they shrugged their shoulders and said, "If they have enough money to give to the families, they can go back to their life."
There was no sarcasm or malice intended during the making of this post.
