The Meyers Briggs Personality Indicator identifies the 16 personality groups. It is used throughout the world and has been since the 1940's. Any psychologist and human resources worth their title use it.
On a personal level, I dare say that each of us sort people into groups, useful to us or not, attractive to us, sanctimonious or not, mentally inferior etc. Some we may place in more than one group ie hypocritical and mentally inferior or attractive and unavailable but we all judge.
Posting Tim Sharky's photo above wanted crim is a ballsy move and not particularily smart IMHO.

He forgot to mention the expat who forgets he too is an expat and puts all other expats into stupid little sub groups.

I just don’t believe that there are two Humphreys.
Re: The People You Most Want To Avoid In SE Asia (and sometimes everywhere else too)
Yes but one has a CBE - a Commander of the British Empire and the other most likely a forged passport.

Yes, we all judge. Life is so much easier when everything and everyone has a tag to them. That’s why dogs may be better than humans. You give them food and they are happy not to judge you.Isaanbarang wrote: ↑Fri Nov 08, 2019 4:50 pmThe Meyers Briggs Personality Indicator identifies the 16 personality groups. Hilarious. From the OP link -
8/ The Travel Blogger.
There may be a certain amount of irony in targeting bloggers in a blog...
... suddenly everyone seems to have travel blogs
...but for the most part their entries veer towards the staid and uninspiring.
Not like my travel blog
hypocrite

I would add
The Know it all, not only does he know it all and seen it all but it was way better back then so you will never get to know what he knows now. Often only been in-country for a couple of years.
The Whinger, nothing is as good as at home, could possibly be close to as good as he is accustomed to and more than happy to piss on anyone's parade. Lives in a fan room with a squat toilet because he prefers to "live like locals"
The Borrower, five minutes of conversation is all it takes to be close enough friends to ask for a loan, nothing big, say $50 until the end of the month. Dresses reasonably well has no girlfriend but would love to go to a karaoke bar if you can spot him some cash. Can t drink cheap beer, "it makes him vomit" and as often as not teaches.

The gossiping name dropper. He knows everyone's business regularly associating himself with successful or well-to-do expats who themselves actually haven't got a clue who he is.

While we are on this bullshit topic here are a few more:
‘The only falang in the village’ aka ‘the local celebrity’ - he lives like a local, dresses like a local, eats like a local and gets his nose out of joint if he sees another white face in his hood.
‘The I’ve been here longer than you twat’ - anything or anywhere you mention in country and he has done it or been there before you or anyone else.
‘The price expert’ who is usually also ‘The looking for land guy’ - he’s obsessed about the price of everything and will tell you in no uncertain terms if you pay too much for anything, this could be as little as 25 cents too much, and in his eyes of course you pay too much for everything. He also doesn’t hesitate to complain if he is overcharged as little as 20 cents as he expects to pay exactly what the locals pay as he has forgotten he comes from a vastly privileged background when compared to them and had more money than they will ever have. This guy is also often talking about his hunt for the perfect bit of land to buy and if you are also looking for land beware as he is definitely getting a far lower price per m2 than you and anything you suggest will be totally ridiculed.
‘The moaner’ - it’s all he does. Ever.
