the one and only purpose of phonetic notation system is
ð ə w ʌ n ə n əʊ n l ɪ p ɜ: p ə s ə v f əʊ n e t ɪ k n əʊ t eɪ ʃ n s ɪ s t ə m ɪ z
to write how words are pronounced i can write like
t ə r aɪ t h aʊ w ɜ: d z ɑ: p r ə n aʊ n s t aɪ k æ n r aɪ t l aɪ k
this and you can still understand
ð ɪ s ə n j u: k æ n s t ɪ l ʌ n d ə s t æ n d

I think everyone else agrees that the vowel in the middle is 'o' not 'a.'

Good on you. If you want to use that method, that is fine. But do you think the majority of the readers on this forum can understand if you write like this?fax wrote: ↑Thu Nov 07, 2019 1:35 pm the one and only purpose of phonetic notation system is

up to you...
Re: Is the $5 per day overstay rule still in place?
It does not shorten the consonant. It actually shortens the vowel before the consonant.
For example:
ដប / dop (means bottle) has a long 'o' sound.
ដប់ / dop (means ten) has a short 'o' sound.

Please demonstrate your superior method by writing the following sentence in Khmer using A-Z only, no digits: I paid my motodop ten dollars for picking me up.
If you still don’t then I will simply accept you forfeiting the debate.

Have you ever considered there might be a number of people reading this who speak Khmer, and know how it is pronounced. To continue arguing when you are wrong, is telling them a lot about yourself.

Do you think I’m trying to be right? I have given you every option to be right but you are not participating. Instead you run to straw men and other master suppression techniques.
I don’t have a problem admitting it when I am wrong, but your evasive posting style is not doing you any favors convincing me.
Re: Is the $5 per day overstay rule still in place?
It look like you're shifting away from the original issue, which was the conversion from Khmer to Latin script.
There are international standard rules for that - that's what Fax pointed out. The fact you don't adhere to those rules because they don't fit (your) pronunciation doesn't change that fact. The rest is just smoke.
