I pronounce it Siem Reap.

Is someone going to say it is Siem Reab.
Because ប់ and ប are the same? I thought you were an expert.

Siem Reap is the English language name of the city. If we were to write it phonetically per IPA it would not be written as Siem Reap.

You do understand what IPA is, don’t you? This is going back and forth like yesterday’s Soi Cowboy ping pong show.

So I write it how it is pronounced.

So you write it according to what you find on the internet, not how it is pronounced.

The English alphabet does not contain Khmer letters or sounds. You simply can’t use the Roman alphabet to write it because there is no official romanization of the language.

What you can do is use IPA or other phonetic notation systems, but you’re too daft to.

Do you know the difference?

If so, what is it?

It shortens the consonant. When the consonant is shortened you and others wrongly hear p instead of b. I read it on the internet so it must be wrong.

Now explain to me how you with your superior system would write the word dop, as in motodop. I believe I have asked you 4 times now. It is a very straight question, explorer.

So using your method, it would not be written the way it is pronounced.

I wouldn't worry fax, it is the typical response you get from a [Mod edit: no need for name calling] who has been caught completely out and has no answers to your questions aside from either incorrect ones or more deflective questions back at you. He knows he is wrong but is too stubborn to admit it (either that or he really is that stupid). You would have a greater hope of a sensible answer talking to a rock.
