Sangam Resort and Casino Review

Post by Anthony's Weiner »

I just spent a very pleasant couple of days at the Sangam Resort and Casino in Choeung Phnom Village, Oddor Meanchey. The hotel/casino is located just 500 m from the Thai border and is about 1km out of Choeung Phnom Village. Deluxe room was $25 usd with suites and Vip suites going for 100 usd and 160 usd. The hotel has a brilliant infinity pool, gym and massage facilities and KTV rooms if that is your pleasure. Our room, a suite was spacious, spotlessly clean and had a 200 ft private terrace off it with good views of the surrounding highlands. The food at the Japanese restaurant was excellent but for the most part, the hotel is very quiet. No Chinese were there, oodles of Thais coming in during the day but by 6 or 7 at night the hotel was empty. A decent stage show at night at the amphitheatre was attended by less than 10 couples, there was a server for each table. The hotel is near the Pol Pots cremation site and is in one of the areas that were last to abandon the Khmer Rouge. The duty-free shop is well stocked and a 1-litre bottle of Johnny Walker Double Black is half the Thailand price at $33. 2 litres of JW and 2 cartons of Marlboros and the money I spent on the room was offset by my savings. The dinner show was $40 for the two of us, massages 1 1/2 hours was $20 again for both of us, I didn t bother with the nail salon but was told that the service was excellent and she seemed quite happy.
I might add there were about 2 dozen heavily armed soldiers at the border which is not at all common. The Cambodian Immigration officer told me that there was the possibility of an " important person" returning to Cambodia but no name was given. Runaway I assume.

That looks thoroughly decent, thanks for the info.
