Kampot "Dog House" Gets Tales Going

Kampot: Officials say no action will be taken after investigation into a French bvusiness in Kampot called "The Dog House".
A billboard was reviewed because it has the Khmer caption "dog house" and a picture of a dog sleeping in a kennel below. A concerned member of the public informed a Khmer reporter about the location called "The Dog House" in Sangkat Kampong Kandal, Kampot City.

It seems that some people were under a misunderstanding that the premises were serving dog meat there. The local authorities went to investigate because this could affect the reputation of Kampot. However, when they noted that there were no dogs on the premises, and spoke to the French owner of the establishment , they were satisfied that there are no grounds for alarm. The owner will be permitted to maintain the name "The Dog House", with no penalty.

I suppose this is an alternative to having to sleep on the couch because the missus has got the hump?

I am sure that would cheer her up no end if you sloped off to a hotel for a night. You might end up living there...

I wonder if the French have a different meaning for the phrase 'dog-house'?

Hello; sorry but what is the problem, only khmer can sell dog meat in Cambodia ? it's everywhere, so why police ?
