That is 70/80k's from where she went missing.
For any conspiracy theorists out there, i can assure you that is absolutely feasible in the sea conditions in that area.
It is very lucky that they found her.

RIP Amelia, i'll be back on those waters soon,
we'll have a chat if your spirit still lingers..

My sincere condolences to the family. Like a lot of people, I've been checking in here every day, hoping that there would be some good news. The search teams did a great job, not easy for those on land, who were out there every day searching the bush. And the official searchers also made a huge effort, and at least they have recovered the body for the family. Sad as it is, at least they know where she is.
Thoughts to the family and the friends of the deceased. RIP Amelia.

Poor girl. Went for a swim and drowned.
Her family must be distraught. Thank goodness they found her; at least the mystery agony can end and now the knowing agony can begin.

Mods... please dont post any gruesome pictures, even on the darknet. It's just sick voyeurism.

There are no sick photos on the darknet thread, only photos confirming that the missing person drowned, and that she been found and identified. It is proof against internet speculation and conspiracy theories.
There are also some comments that are were deemed inappropriate on the open net. We have tried to keep the comments here respectful and positive during the search.

British embassy asked Tea Vichet to take down the pictures and not post anymore information which he has shared. He said he has no problem complying with their wishes.

Poor girl and the poor family, may she rest in peace. The only comfort now is that they have found her body. I've found memories of Koh Rong and Cambodia, been following this daily. Sincere condolences to her family and friends.

Awful tragedy. Let's just hope her death is investigated thoroughly and by western standards. There's still every possibility that this was simply a tragic accident. She could have just gone swimming after a few too many drinks and got into trouble. Either way, I hope they get to the truth for her friends and family's sake.

RIP xx

The body of the British backpacker Amelia Bambridge has been found at sea more than 30 miles (48km) from where she disappeared, according to Cambodian police.

The 21-year-old gap year student from Worthing, West Sussex, had been missing since last Thursday morning after leaving a beach party on the island of Koh Rong. Her body was found floating in the sea near the Thai border, police said.

Chuon Narin, the police chief of the province of Preah Sihanouk, confirmed Bambridge’s body had been found and said it would be taken to nearby Sihanoukville. He refused to speculate as to the possible cause of her death.
