Child Drowns Because of Negligence at Water Park
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On October 27, 2019, a 6-year-old boy died of drowning at the Cambodia Water Cube Leisure Park, in Sangkat Kambol, Khan Kambol, Phnom Penh.
Before the incident, the victim went to the water park with his parents. It is reported that the boy drowned while his parents were partying. After the drowning, the Chinese owner gave the boy's body to the family and ushered them out of the water park without reporting to the police.
The local people said the Cambodia Water Cube Leisure Park has 6 Chinese owners, and there were the security guards, but there was nobody was looking after the kid while he was playing in the water.
On October 28, the reporter at Postnews tried to get some information from the waterpark company, but nobody responded.
RIP

Re: Child Drowns Because of Negligence at Water Park
Utterly tragic. I have a six year old son myself and that just wouldn't bear thinking about. Whenever I take him swimming I am with him all the time, you simply cannot trust even pool lifeguards here to be able to swim themselves.
What pisses me off no end are the apparently new generation of parents who have some 20 year old nanny looking after their kids and believing they'll have the same level of diligence as themselves so they can "go and party" - those 20 year old nannies as we know (a) can't swim, and (b) would be engrossed in Facebook anyway. How can anyone leave their kids in water here without proper adult supervision is beyond me.
You're a damn parent, partying is FOR the six year olds at a water park - not at their expense, in this case a poor lad robbed of his life too soon. RIP.

The parents killed their child by their negligent behaviour.
Anyone with even an ounce if common sense would know that they and they alone are responsible for their childs welfare at any "play area/park/water park" in this country.
