Seen a lot of travelers go through that in Thailand I'm just not that guy I dont get emotionally attached even in the states. But point taken.

Why Cambodia? You can get more bang for your buck in other countries. Wages are relatively low here and prices keep rising.
And about the teaching- if you’re good at it it can be really rewarding job, but having been a teacher for ages I can tell you must teachers aren’t that good, and then it can be struggle.
Make sure you have a plan b besides your teaching plans, and make sure you have a an idea about your live when you turn 60. As said before you will not build up any social security here and a medical issue will take a cut from your savings.

By all means get yourself a TEFL and start out teaching, but please don't limit yourself.

Wow awesome man I didn't know I could even get a job or work permit doing that in Cambodia i definitely want to stay in touch with you i have been in every big time data center and server in the bay area. Samsung, Tesla, Zynga, Huawei, netgear, damn you name it I have done everything from ground up data center builds 250+ cabinet builds all the way to basic service calls like data drops, AP installs, rack and stack ect... I absolutely love that type of work and am very experienced and have a great reference with my PM.

I'd love to take the opportunity but also I'd like to get my feet wet with this teaching gig first. I'd like to stick to the route I have laid for myself but by all means yes I do want to do data work. Let's stay in touch.

It's a no brainers I'd much rather be working in data and security than being a teacher but I feel teaching english will be very fulfilling in Cambodia to me personally. I think it will feel great and be a rewarding way of helping the community dispite how many people responding are warning me I will be miserable

That is the stereotypical reason people move to the region and although I met a lot of great people and of course women on my travels I dont know anyone in Cambodia at all. I am coming solo and a but blind do that is why I am reaching out here. I really do want to teach English I think it will be very fulfilling.

Wow thanks for the information man I'll definitely look into different school options. Is there a page you know of that talks about school policy from school to school. Almost like a "glass door" type deal?
