Cambodia and Saudi Arabia Discuss Tourism Cooperation
AKP Phnom Penh, October 03, 2019 –
Cambodia and Saudi Arabia have discussed and agreed on tourism cooperation toward mutual benefits, according to local media report.
The discussion was between Cambodia’s Minister of Tourism H.E. Thong Khon and Saudi Arabia's Ambassador to Cambodia H.E. Saud F.M. Al Suwelim at the ministry here in Phnom Penh.
The two sides agreed on the preparation of a bilateral memorandum of understanding to boost tourism cooperation, and touched on the possibility of direct flight and cruise ship connection between the two countries.
H.E. Thong Khon also encouraged fam trips of journalists, investors and tourists between Cambodia and Saudi Arabia as a promotion to start with.
From Cambodian side, he underlined, there will be a specially oriented hospitality and other services for Islamic tourists, including halal food.

Cambodia, Saudi Arabia to sign tourism deal
Cambodia and Saudi Arabia on Friday agreed to sign an agreement on tourism cooperation in the near future that will pave the way for the establishment of the first direct flight between the two kingdoms.
In a meeting in Phnom Penh on Friday, Cambodian Tourism Minister Thong Khon and Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Cambodia Saud F.M. Al Suwelim agreed to sign a memorandum of understanding on tourism cooperation but did not disclose a timeframe for the signing of the agreement.
According to figures from the Ministry of Tourism, Cambodia received 224 visitors from Saudi Arabia during the first seven months of the year, an increase of 26 percent year-on-year.

20 things that could get you arrested or fined
No dabbing.
No wearing shorts.
Getting drunk on the flight over, or bringing in alcohol, could land you in serious trouble.
Don’t bring in a drone without approval.
Don’t cut in line.
You can’t bring any pork into the country.
Gambling is in principle illegal.
Being gay or transgender is illegal.
Playing loud music in public is taboo and a finable offence.
No public displays of affection.
No drugs.
Bringing a Bible into the country, or having any non-Islamic religious items on your person, can land you in trouble.
Photographing a Saudi without his or her explicit permission is illegal.
Taking up seats and utilities reserved for elderly and disabled people is a finable offence.
Photographing government buildings is illegal, for national security reasons.
It’s illegal to subject women and children to pranks or anything that “can scare them or put them in danger.”
It’s illegal to hold two passports in Saudi Arabia.
Be careful with outward Valentine’s Day displays.
Sitting as a single man in the family area of a restaurant is also forbidden.
Entering Mecca and Medinah as a non-Muslim is forbidden.
