Would you guys say a fair amount of drink buying is needed to ease things at these bars? My read is everything is slower in Phnom Penh compared to Pattaya, where I typically buy a round, negotiate and we check bin/leave if she passes vetting.

But if they're sometimes flat out saying no in these bars I guess I could slow things down.

I'd say that no matter how much good advice you get here or anywhere you will invariably get shafted. I'm not sure what is wrong with you, but for a young and supposedly affluent person you come across as very needy. Are you butt-ugly or is there some other reason why you can't seem to interact normally with people?
