Police handover French convict Charlene Savario to France
Anti-drugs police have transferred a French convict, Charlene Savario back to France after serving four years in prison, said General Mok Chito, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Drugs Authority.
The transfer was held on Thursday, participated by representatives of Justice Ministry, Kandal provincial prison, General Development of Immigration, Anti-Drugs Department, and France Embassy.
“The transfer was made on a request by the French government. Both governments have cooperated in this field of work,” General Chito said. “She will have to serve the additional years in prison in France.”

^^^
The difference between France and Australia.
France fights for humane treatment of it's citizens even if they are obviously guilty.
Australia lets a citizen rot in a Cambodian gaol for 23 years even when they know that she is completely innocent.
Shame, AFP Phnom Penh, shame.
Shame, australian ambassador - shame on you.

Handover photos from Fresh News. It was quite a ceremony, with many officials present.
She must be relieved.

Are inmates in Cambodian prisons allowed or required to supply or purchase their own food? She doesn't seem to be the picture of what one would imagine would happen to your body size/weight in a Cambodian prison.

Say whatever you want about the French.
Busted the secret-agent/terrorist Rainbow Warrior bombers out of a NZ gaol,
and now sprung the heroin smuggler from Prey Sar.
At least they look after their own, no matter what.

Congrats on cheating a grim fate.
Still time to do in France, but hey, that feeling when you know you go back home....
I wish her to use her brain to improve her life. Still got a future after all.

Yoshe and the story were the subject of a two-part "Australian Story" doco that aired last month.
Interesting and a bit easier to understand how it unfolded if you can get to see it. There was a fairly elaborate scam involving giving her a job importing art and textiles to Australia. The French woman was part of the entrapment, and Yoshe plainly unaware, hence the eventual submission by prosecutors as well as defence to reduce her sentence.

Ditto.
