Renting a full shuttle van from Thailand to Phnom Penh
Anyone know a company who can do this? I'm bringing over a van's worth of stuff so will be renting the whole thing.

I would have thought asking people in Thailand/on a Thai forum better than asking people in Cambodia.
You must walk in traffic to cross the road - Cambodian proverb
Re: Renting a full shuttle van from Thailand to Phnom Penh
A buddy of mine made the move from Bongcock to southern VN overland a couple of years ago with a shitload of stuff he had accumulated over 10 years. He hired a small truck, basically a "lorry", which took him to the Thai-Cambo border. And, I think he had to change to a new vehicle there.
Anyway, I can get some details from him if you are innerested.

Yes I am interested, thank you. I need help with both sides of the trek, and also the crossing itself. A truck full of stuff is a lot to carry, and I'm not sure how it works when you have to switch vehicles. Based on the Thai taxi companies I've spoken to, they all seem to want to stop at the border which complicates this process if I can't find a vehicle to cross over with.sigmoid wrote: ↑Mon Oct 07, 2019 7:16 pm A buddy of mine made the move from Bongcock to southern VN overland a couple of years ago with a shitload of stuff he had accumulated over 10 years. I will see if I can get some details. He actually arranged things in person in advance by travelling along the route two times. His route was diffetent from yours though as he traveled along/near the coast to Ha Tien in Vietnam.
One thing that was quite helpful was that he packed everything in large plastic cases with handles that could be easily moved and stacked.

According to my friend, there are people at the border with carts that will move your stuff across the border. You pay them per cart load.

They bring my power cables from the borders to site in Phnom Penh
Look after all the documents and customs 'fees'.
Run by a Chinese lady, but have staff that can speak English.
They can WeChat or Telegram you no worries - ask for Channara

Maybe check out option of taxi-van from Bangkok to Koh Kong City.
I understand Thai registered vehicles can cross border no hassles into KK province (only??).
Then you could unload at hotel or similar in Koh Kong and arrange cheap van to PP.
Much better that trying to do that on the border.
(better check, i am not 100% sure about this)

Find a friend that has a van/pick up with a top in his name, (must be in his name to exit Thailand) and pay him OR someone that has a van in Cambodia willing to drive over and help you.
DONT use Poi Pet border, but use Osmach or Koh Kong crossing
If you go commercial option, might end up paying tax
